... While it may not be possible to totally prevent a thief from stealing your bike, you can make stealing your bike more of a challenge by using some common sense and high quality locks and or alarm systems. Be sure to take photographs of your bike for use in the event your bike is ever stolen...
We tested it to see how well it worked for both cool and hot weather.
In many areas of the country it is not uncommon to start out on a ride early in the morning when the temperature is fifty degrees and by mid day be riding in temperatures that are in the eighties. This is the kind of scenario that the Chillout performs well. The product could have easily been called “Heat-out” because it functions remarkably well to keep out excessive heat as well.
The cool weather portion of my evaluation was conducted with the temperature around 58 degrees. For my ride I wore a Hit-Air MX jacket made with a mesh fabric suitable for warm weather and my pants were the Aerostich Roadcrafter. My bike was a 2008 Kawasaki Concours 14. Both the Hit-Air and Aerostich Roadcrafter were two color red and black. Aerostich Roadcrafter is legendary in its abrasion protection so it was a nice compliment to the Hit-Air jacket air bag system.
The Kawasaki Concours 14 puts out a lot of heat, which I personally appreciate for those cool days that I prefer to ride. The Hit-Air MX mesh fabric allows so much flow through of air that it feels almost as light as a T-shirt. When I started out the Chillout did not appear to be providing much wind protection for my arms.
Then I discovered that the sleeves are made with insulation that is on the top or front portion that has to be position properly to achieve maximum wind protection. To aid in proper positioning of the sleeves there is a loop at the end of the sleeve that slides over your fore finger to align the insulation portion of the sleeve so that it covers that part of your arm that is exposed to the on coming wind. After I made the adjustment, there was a dramatic difference in the wind protection.

So far so good, the shirt worked well to keep the “chill” out of my upper body and since the Concours 14 provides ample warmth for my lower body there was not as much “chill” to keep off my legs.
For the warm weather portion of my evaluation I rode in temperatures of 81 degrees and 95 degrees on different days. I rode with the Hit-Air MX without the Chillout shirt but with the Chillout pants and Aerostich Roadcrafter pants. I wanted to see how well it performed with the heat from the bike and the very hot ambient temperature of 95 degrees.
I have ridden my Concours 14 in 95 degree weather when I first took delivery of my bike last summer. It was like riding with a curling iron strapped to your legs. If the Chillout could make riding in this temperature bearable, I would consider this a flying success. I am happy to report that it did indeed reduce the effect of both the engine heat and the ambient heat of 95 degrees. I rode for about an hour and never experienced the level of discomfort that I had without the Chillout.
Fit and finish
The apparel is very light weight and fits like spandex, it is so comfortable you almost don’t feel that you are wearing anything. And if you happened to be caught with your pants down they don’t look like underwear. The shirt has two zippers, one zips the entire length of the garment like a jacket and the second zipper zips down from the side of the neck.
Conclusion:
The Chillout is very versatile apparel that can significantly improve your comfort level in both cold and hot weather. It is ideal for most conditions that are not extreme cold or extreme heat. If your rides takes you from cold to warm weather on the same day, this is the under garment to wear.
All Chillout Clothing is Unisex! Two-wheel transport can provide some of the most hostile environments the human body ever has to encounter. At
32ºF , the wind chill factor at just 24mph is approximately 3.2ºF. Add to that the impact of rain at high speeds and it is easy to see how a rider's concentration could be adversely affected.
The all-new OXFORD ChillOut range of Essential Lifetime Clothing uses the very latest in sportswear technology to keep riders warm when it is cold and cool when it is warm, helping them to keep their concentration focused on the road rather than on their discomfort.
CHILLTEX is an extraordinary material, both tough and gentle at the same time. Waterproof, Windproof and Breathable, it also has an insulating fleece lining, which is gentle on the skin. CHILLTEX is used on OXFORD ChillOut clothing wherever there is risk of wind chill or rain affecting the rider.
TECHNOLOGY
Chilltex™ - 3D TECHNICAL FLEECE
Chilltex™ 3D Technical fleece has been
developed after extensive testing with other fleece products.
3D technical fleece traps the warm air between
the wearer and outer layer, whilst still allowing moisture to escape
through the breathable membrane.
This creates a wearers own micro climate. The
design of the 3D Tech fleece allows the warm air to move around more
freely which helps prevent hot and cold patches.
Why You Need A Chilltex™ product
Whether you’re motorcycling at 50mph or walking
at 3mph the wind chill factor effects us all too varying degrees. One
thing is for sure, as soon as you start to feel cold, your performance
levels drop and your concentration is affected which can be dangerous.
As an example, an outside temperature of +4°C
(39.2 degree Fahrenheit), but with a wind of 25km/h actually feels
like -5°C (23 degree Fahrenheit).
In cold conditions the insulating layer of warm air between your body and your outer clothing is blown away by the wind, and in winter conditions the onset of hypothermia can be quite quick.
Chilltex™ products block this cold wind and the insulating warm air remains, heat loss is prevented and you stay warmer for longer. Perspiration is also allowed to pass through helping further to stop the onset of hypothermia and keeping you warmer for longer.
How Chilltex™ Products Work
